I am to be the foreign correspondent and ambassador of the Gallery for Contemporary Art (Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst, GfZK) in Leipzig. The GfZK is posting me to Macedonia and Bulgaria, Romania and Moldavia, Belorussia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. My mission is to give these countries an impression of Germany and bring back an image of these countries to Leipzig upon my return.

Before I leave, I will pack a suitcase full of things that are to represent Germany. I will ask all the staff at the GfZK what they would like me to take along to represent Germany.
I will show people the contents of this suitcase on my travels. And in turn, I will ask the different groups of people I meet to choose things I should put into the suitcase to represent their country when I go back home.
